As an official media partner, our team at poker.pro will be on-site at the 2026 Greek Poker Odyssea at Regency Casino Thessaloniki, covering key hands and biggest moments from the €1,000 Main Event.
Marek Ohnisko opened to 12,000 from under the gun, and was met with a three-bet to 21,000 from Aiguo Xu from middle position.
Action folded back to Ohnisko, who four-bet jammed with the covering stack after a brief period of thought. Xu sighed and got his total stack of roughly 80,000 into the middle.
Aiguo Xu: A♠9♥ Marek Ohnisko: K♣K♠
Ohnisko had the goods, and Xu was up out of his chair after the K♥J♣6♥ flop, the Q♠3♦ turn and river confirming his fate.
In the next hand, Dimitrios Manekas, opened to 45,000 under the gun, leaving himself 10,000 behind, and found a customer in Michail Tastanis in the next seat.
On the 9♥5♠3♦ flop, Manekas laughed to himself before shipping his last chips into the middle, and Tastanis quickly called.
Dimitrios Manekas: A♠Q♣ Michail Tastanis: A♣A♥
Manekas was up out of his chair, and wished the table good luck as the 6♥4♦ runout confirmed his exit.
With around 40,000 in the middle on a board of 10♠4♠2♠J♣, Alexandros Michas checked from the big blind to Konstantinos Kertikidis under the gun.
Kertikidis fired out a bet of 25,000, and was met with a check-jam from Michas for 81,000.
Kertikidis went deep into thought, and after a couple of minutes said “Sorry guys”, followed by “Sorry, it’s a really tough one” a further 30 seconds later.
Fotios Ntamaris has scooped successive pots to move over the 500,000 mark.
In the first, with around 70,000 in the middle, Lulei Hu check-called a bet of 55,000 from Ntamaris on a board of K♠J♣5♦4♥6♠, and mucked when Ntamaris tabled Q♦J♥ for second pair.
In the second, Jacub Forejt moved all in from early position for 36,000, and was looked up by Ntamaris.
Jacub Forejt: J♥10♠ Fotios Ntamaris: A♥K♦
Forejt wasn’t in terrible shape, but Ntamaris found trips on the A♠A♣9♥ flop. The 8♣ turn gave Forejt some hope, but the 4♦ river was a brick.
Vasilieios Gkokgas stack has gone in successive hands.
In the first, he check-called an all-in of 48,000 from Stefanos Giannakopoulos on a board of A♦5♠3♣6♠7♣ with A♥5♥ for two pair, but his opponent had 6♣4♦ for the straight.
In the next hand, there was an open from David Kozma to 7,000, and Gkokgas three-bet jammed for 20,000. Dimitrios Giannopoulos cold-called in the big blind, and Kozma made up the difference.
The active players checked down the 9♠9♣3♠J♣A♥ runout. Gkokgas had J♦10♦ for two pair but had been rivered by Giannopoulos’ A♣7♣, with Kozma in third with 6♣6♠.
Traianos Ntavoutis was getting up out of his chair laughing, after getting his chips into the middle with K♠K♥ versus Vladimir Shushkovsky’s A♦K♦.
An ace in the window on the A♣4♦3♦ flop appeared to have ended his hopes, with his opponent also picking up the nut flush draw, leaving Ntavoutis with one out.
In miraculous fashion, it had appeared on the K♣ turn. However, the 5♦ cruelly rolled off on the river to give Shushkovsky the nuts.
Vladimir Shushkovsky – 260,000 Traianos Ntavoutis – 0
Michailas Bedulskis was raking in a triple-up, after he pulled a one-outer on the river in a crazy three-way cooler.
With the board reading K♥6♦2♣4♥10♦, Bedulskis had 10♥10♣, Alexandros Michas held K♠10♠, and Christoforos Chatzikyriakos showed 2♦2♥, for a trips over trips over two pair scenario.
Fotios Ntamaris opened to 4,000 from the cutoff, and received a call from Emmanouil Zacharakis on the button, before Simon Hajek produced a three-bet to 19,000 from the big blind.
Both of his opponents called to see the A♣K♥J♠ flop, where Hajek led out with a bet of 12,000, which failed to dispose of either opponent.
The K♦ turn paired the board and was checked through to the 2♣ river. Action was checked to Ntamaris, who fired out a bet of 100,000.
Zacharakis folded relatively quickly, but Hajek looked pained, and took at least two minutes pondering the spot before sending his cards to the muck.
With 24,000 in the middle on a board of 6♣2♠2♦8♣, Fotios Ntamaris fired out a bet of 20,000 from the big blind, which failed to shake off Giuseppe Corapi in the hijack.
The J♥ hit on the river, and Ntamaris quickly check-folded versus a bet of 25,000 from Corapi.
Giuseppe Corapi – 126,000 Fotios Ntamaris – 135,000
Vahe Martirosyan opened to 3,000 from the cutoff, and received calls from Aggelos Valilis on the button, and Alexey Shilov in the big blind.
On the A♥K♣6♣ flop, action was checked to Martirosyan, who slid out a bet of 4,000.
Only Valilis called to see the 10♠ turn, where Martirosyan double-barreled with a bet of 13,500.
Valilis stuck around for the 4♣ river, where Martirosyan fired again with a bet of 23,000. Valilis responded with an all-in of 76,000, and after a good spell in the tank, Martirosyan called.
Valilis tabled Q♣9♣ for the flush, and Martirosyan showed A♣6♠ for two pair.
Aggelos Valilis – 210,000 Vahe Martirosyan – 99,000
With 40,000 in the middle on a completed board of A♦10♦6♥9♦K♥, Vladimir Shushkovsky led out with a bet of 10,000, and was called by Evaggelos Bechrakis.
Shushkovsky tabled 6♥4♥ for fifth pair, and was shocked to see Bechrakis had looked him up with 7♦7♠.
Evaggelos Bechrakis – 140,000 Vladimir Shushkovsky – 212,000
Panagiotis Marizas opened to 2,500 from the hijack, and was met with a three-bet to 6,500 from Cesare Raso in the cutoff.
Marizas called to see the J♥3♣2♣ flop, where Marizas check-called versus a continuation bet of 5,500 from Raso.
The J♣ turn paired the board and brought flush possibilities, and was checked to the 5♥ river. Marizas led out with a bet of 9,500, and Raso folded with more than a hint of frustration.
Roberto Palmieri, Dimitrios Manekas, Christos Lazopoulos and Georgios Varkaris will all have to fire another bullet to attempt to qualify for Day 2, after coming unstuck in Day 1b.
Nikolaos Tsinas opened to 2,000 from early position, and received calls from Aleksandar Georgiev in the hijack, the button, and Panagiotis Marizas in the big blind.
The 10♥4♣3♠ flop was checked to the 2♠ turn, where Marizas led out with a bet of 3,500. Tsinas folded, before Georgiev raised to 11,500, which was sufficient to force folds from both of his opponents.
Aleksandar Georgiev – 116,000 Panagiotis Marizas – 74,000
With around 25,000 in the middle on a board of J♠J♦9♥J♣, Venelin Pashev checked from the hijack to Leonidas Georgopoulos in the cutoff.
Georgopoulos fired out a bet of 20,000, and after some thought, Pashev called.
The 3♠ rolled off on the river to complete the board, and Pashev checked once more. Georgopoulos moved all in for 95,000, and Pashev sighed and sat back in his chair, looking pained.
Pashev, with around 90,000 behind, spent the next five minutes eyeballing his opponent, trying to get some kind of read. Georgopoulos’ gaze remained fixed straight ahead throughout, chewing gum and looking pretty relaxed.
Eventually, the clock was called, and as it got to five seconds, Pashev folded. Georgopoulos blew his cheeks with relief, and tabled Q♦10♠, earning a wry smile and tap of the table from Pashev.
With 32,000 in the middle on a board of Q♦10♦9♦, Hristina Nikolova led out with a bet of 13,000 from the small blind, and received a call from Emmanouil Livanos on the button.
The 10♠ hit on the turn. Nikolova jammed for 69,000, and looked concerned when Livanos snap-called for his remaining stack of 57,000.
Emmanouil Livanos: Q♣10♣ Hristina Nikolova: A♥A♣
Nikolova let out a sound of pain when she saw she was almost dead versus her opponent’s full house, and there was no two-outer on the 2♥ river, much to her disgust.
Around 50,000 had made its way into the middle by the river in a hand between Konstantinos Panagiotopoulos and Ioannis Drinis, with the board reading J♥3♠2♣4♥2♠.
Panagiotopoulos check-called a bet of 15,000 from his opponent, and mucked when Drinis tabled K♦K♥.
Ioannis Drinis – 140,000 Konstantinos Panagiotopoulos – 60,000
Stylianos Pallas opened to 1,500 from early position, and received a call from Emmanouil Zacharakis in the cutoff, before Simon Hajek produced a three-bet to 5,500 from the button.
Only Pallas called to see the Q♠9♦8♥ flop, where Pallas check-called a bet of 7,300 from Hajek.
The 4♦ turn and 3♣ river were checked through, and both parties were relieved to chop, Hajek holding A♥K♠, and Pallas A♦K♦.
Meanwhile, Ioannis Georgopoulos is the first player to bust in Day 1b.
Stylianos Pallas – 102,750 Simon Hajek – 102,750 Ioannis Georgopoulos – 0
Denis Simionel opened to 1,500 under the gun, and received a call from Christos Moliotis in the cutoff, before Ivalyo Opalchenski produced a three-bet to 6,500 from the big blind.
Both of his opponents called to see the Q♣9♣6♣ flop, where Opalchenski fired out a bet of 7,500, leading to swift folds from both of his foes.
A big pot of 26,000 had developed by the river on a board of Q♣6♥3♦7♠2♦, in a hand between Ioannis Georgopoulos in the cutoff and Ioannis Lazaridis in the small blind.
The river was checked through, and Georgopoulos’ 4♥3♥ was good versus Lazaridis’ A♥K♠.
The pair had a good chuckle, and a bit of chatter in Greek, as Georgopoulos took the pot with fourth pair.
Ioannis Georgopoulos – 113,000 Ioannis Lazaridis – 87,000

The tournament director announced four more hands were to be played in Day 1a, as Artemios Fournaris opened to 16,000 from early position, and received a call from Martin Tsvetanov on the button.
On the K♥9♥4♠ flop, Fournaris fired out a bet of 30,000, which failed to shake off Tsvetanov.
The same pattern followed on the A♦ turn, following a double-barrel of 67,000 from Fournaris.
Fournaris slowed down on the J♣ river, and checked to his opponent. Tsvetanov took the opportunity to slid out a bet of 185,000, earning a swift fold from Fournaris.

With around 90,000 in the middle on a board of 6♦6♣3♣A♣, Kristian Willumsen check-called from the big blind in the face of a bet of 25,000 from Panagiotis Oikonomidis in the cutoff.
On the Q♠ river, Willumsen led out with an all-in bet of 65,000, earning a rapid tap of the table and fold from Oikonomidis.

A pot of 114,000 had brewed by the turn on a board of J♥6♣4♦9♣, and Ioannis Gerontas checked from the big blind to Vasileios Chalkiopoulos in middle position, who fired out a bet of 15,000.
Konstantinos Dalakas called on the button, and Gerontas also called.
The J♦ river paired the board, and action was checked to Dalakas. He slid out a bet of 40,000, and was met with a check-jam of 103,000 from Gerontas.
Chalkiopoulos called, and Dalakas folded.
Gerontas tabled K♠J♣ for trip jacks, and Chalkiopoulos tabled A♠A♦ as he counted out his bill.
Lorenzo Arduini leads the way as the players head on their final break of the day, with late registration due to close before the start of Level 12, and play due to conclude in Day 1a at the end of Level 13.
Apostolos Kofidis was getting up out of his chair, and his roughly 120,000 stack was being passed to Lorenzo Arduini, after the Italian turned a straight with 8♥6♥ on the K♣5♦4♣7♦5♠ board.
Plamen Marinov was getting up out of his chair looking stunned, after his final 110,000 went into the middle on the river in a hand against Georgios Kapalas, on a board of J♦7♦5♦A♠K♥, and was quickly called.
Marinov tabled 5♥5♣ for the flopped bottom set of fives, but he was behind the whole way against Kapalas’ 4♦3♦ for the flopped flush.
With around 140,000 in the middle on a board of A♥9♣3♠7♣3♦, Nikolaos Toloudis checked to Georgios Dallas, who fired out a bet of 90,000.
Touloudis was pained and went into the tank, moving his hands from over his mouth to cover almost the entirety of his face. Eventually, he shook his head, and reluctantly flicked his cards to the dealer.

Andreas Paliogiannis has pulled both of the biggest bounties in the €400 Mystery Bounty, finding the €9,000 and €6,000 envelopes. Not bad work if you can get it!
Paliogiannis is a bit of a Mystery Bounty specialist, having triumphed in this event last year, and is now in the running for back-to-back titles.
On a flop of 6♣4♠2♣, Georgios Tsialtas led out from the big blind with a bet of 5,000, and was faced with a raise to 18,000 from Valeri Savov.
Tsialtas called to see the 9♥ turn, where he again led with a bet of 20,000. Savov raised once more, to 40,000, and Tsialtas called.
The 4♦ river completed the board, and Tsialtas led out for a third time with a bet of 30,000. Savov just called this time, and mucked when Tsialtas showed 2♠2♦ for a full house.
With around 82,000 in the middle on a board of 4♣4♦2♠K♣7♠, Vahe Martirosyan checked to Dimitrios Siantikos, both in middle position, who fired out a bet of 50,000.
Martirosyan, with around 100,000 behind, went deep into thought. After around two minutes, he flicked in a calling chip.
Siantikos tabled 9♠8♠ for air, and Martirosyan had found a good call with 6♣6♥, leading to a raised eyebrow from Siantikos.
Vahe Martirosyan – 282,000 Dimitrios Siantikos – 95,000
With around 19,000 in the middle on a board of [invalid notations] river led to a double-paired board. Dallas checked, and after a brief period of thought, Savov moved all in for 91,500.
Dallas went into the tank, deep in thought for at least three minutes. Suddenly, he made the call, leading to an immediate tap of the table from Savov, suggesting he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Savov tabled J♠9♠ for the missed flush draw, and Dallas had found the call with 7♥6♣ for the low end of the potential full houses.
With around 75,000 in the middle on a board of K♠9♦8♠6♥, Nikolaos Giannopoulos check-jammed for around 85,000 in the face of a bet of 40,000 from Aris Kotanidis, who quickly called, much to Giannopoulos’ displeasure.
Nikolaos Giannopoulos: 7♦6♦ Aris Kotandis: A♦K♦
Giannopoulos needed help with third pair and the wrap draw versus Kotandis’ top pair, and he bricked the 4♠ river, giving the table a tap as he left.
Martin Tsvetanov was getting up out of his chair, after his A♥10♣ for two pair on a board of A♠9♥5♣2♥10♠ was second best against Konstantinos Siamitras’ 9♣9♠ for a set.
Siamitras’ celebrated with gusto, giving the table a good thump and pumping his fists.
Konstantinos Siamitras – 325,000 Martin Tsvetanov – 0
Emmanouil Zacharakis opened to 3,000 from middle position, and received a call from Andronikos Voliotis in the small blind, before Theodoros Ampelikiotis three-bet jammed from the big blind for 46,000.
Zacharakis called, and looked concerned when Voiliotis moved all in for 51,000. Zacharakis made up the difference to create a three-way all-in scenario.
Each of Athanasios Andrianopoulos, Andronikos Voliotis and Theodoros Ampelikiotis put in 7,000 preflop, before the dealer fanned the J♥7♣3♠ flop.
The flop was checked to the 6♣ turn, where Andrianopoulos led out with a bet of 6,000. Voliotis jammed for 15,600, and Ampelikiotis cold-called. Andrianopoulos looked pained, and folded after some thought.
Georgios Tsialtas opened to 2,200 under the gun, and received five calls, before Marizas Panagiotis produced a three-bet jam of 39,800 from the big blind. Tsialtas called, and all other opponents got out of the way.
Marizas Panagiotis: 7♣7♦ Georgios Tsialtas: A♣A♦
Tsialtas had the premium of all premiums, and there was no escape for Panagiotis on the J♦5♣3♣2♥Q♥ runout.
Stefanos Stefanidis was getting up out of his chair, and his roughly 30,000 stack was being passed to Emmanouil Asgoudakis, after Stefanidis’ A♦K♠ came off worst in a race against Asgoudakis’ 7♣7♦, the board reading 9♥4♥3♣7♣Q♠.
A pot of around 27,000 had brewed by the river on a board of A♦10♥6♠9♥7♠, in a hand between Kristian Willumsen and Dimitrios Giannakis.
Willumsen led out with a bet of 11,000, and was met with a prompt raise to 36,000 from Giannakis. Willumsen didn’t waste much time in disposing of his cards.
Dimitrios Giannakis – 130,000 Kristian Willumsen – 87,000
At least 30,000 had made its way into the middle on a board of 6♦6♣5♣, in a four-way hand.
Georgios Kapalas fired out a bet of 10,000 from the big blind, and received calls from Emmanouil Asgoudakis and Martin Tsvetanov in early and middle position, and a fold from Stefanos Stefanidis on the button.
The 3♥ turn was checked to the K♥ river, where action was checked to Tsvetanov.
Tsvetanov jammed for 55,400, and earnt relatively swift folds from both of his opponents.
With around 12,500 in the middle on a flop of K♦Q♠J♦, Athanasios Xenodochidis checked from the cutoff to Georgios Garnelis on the button, who fired out a bet of 8,400.
Xenodochidis check-jammed for 70,000, earning a raised eyebrow of surprise from Garnelis. Garnelis spent a good 90 seconds in the tank, but ultimately elected to fold.
Ivelin Yonchev opened to 1,800 from early position, and was met with a three-bet to 5,000 from Antonios Roumeliotis in the big blind.
Yonchev called after quite a bit of thought to see the Q♥J♣5♣ flop, which was checked through to the 8♣ turn.
Roumeliotis led out with a bet of 3,000, and Yonchev stuck around for the 6♠ river. Roumelitois fiddled with his chips with 31,000 behind, but ultimately check-folded versus a bet of 15,000 from Yonchev.
A huge pot of 62,000 had developed by the turn on a board of 8♦6♥4♦6♦, in a hand between Ivelin Kolev from early position, and Kristian Willumsen in the big blind.
The turn was checked to the 5♣ river, where Willumsen fired out a bet of 26,000, sending Kolev into the tank.
Kolev spent a good two minutes pondering the spot, but made the call.
Willumsen tabled 10♦10♣ for two pair, and Kolev clenched his fist in celebration as he tabled J♦J♣ for the superior two pair.
Ivelin Kolev – 255,000 Kristian Willumsen – 36,500
Kiril Bakalov opened to 1,500 from the cutoff, and Nikolaos Toloudis defended the big blind.
On the 10♣5♠2♦ flop, Touloudis check-called in the face of a continuation bet of 1,500 from Bakalov.
The 10♦ turn paired the board, and Touloudis led out with a bet of 3,000. Bakalov responded with a prompt raise to 9,000, and after a bit of thought, Touloudis sent his hand to the muck.
We are down to 12 players in the €500 Mini Main Event, after the eliminations of Gat Nitai, Nikolaos Perrakis and Christos Lavdanis.
In the €400 Mystery Bounty, the bubble has just burst, after Pantelis Dokas ran king-seven suited into aces, with all 23 players remaining guaranteed a €410 payday.

poker.pro is delighted to be back in the beautiful Greek port city of Thessaloniki, which boasts a history stretching back more than two millennia. Founded over 2,300 years ago, and named after the sister of Alexander the Great, the city has been shaped by centuries of triumph and turmoil.
This week, a different kind of battle takes place, fought with chips and poker strategy rather than swords, as poker players descend on the stunning Vergina Theatro at Regency Casino for the Novibet2026 Greek Poker Odyssea, aiming to write their own tale of glory.
The festival is already well underway, with the €500 Mini Main creating a prize pool in excess of €160,000, and the final 15 combatants scheduled to return today, June 14, for the final day. Stavros Stavropoulos leads a field including Lorenzo Arduini and Andreas Vlachos, all vying for the €35,395 first-place prize.
Meanwhile, 41 players return for the final day of the €400 Mystery Bounty, with Andreas Paliogiannis topping the standings at the start of play, and best placed to seize the €9,280 top prize.
The crown jewel of the festival and the focus of our coverage, the four-day €1,000 Main Event, also gets underway, with Day 1a scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m local time.
With an expected estimated prize pool of €500,000, four starting flights are scheduled from June 14 – June 16. Players will receive a starting stack of 100,000 at blind level 300/500/500, with the clock set to 40-minute levels, and unlimited reentries permitted.
Late registration remains open until the end of Level 11 in each starting flight, with play scheduled to conclude at the end of Level 13. Day 2 qualifiers will return at 3 p.m on June 17 for Day 2, where the clock will be increased to 60-minute levels, while Days 3-4 will feature 75-minute levels.
Anastasios Vardalis is the defending champion, after taking the trophy and €34,546 following a five-way deal in the 2025 version, which featured a €600 buy-in and attracted 529 entries.

Martin Tsvetanov – 708,000 Artemios Fournaris – 493,000
With around 90,000 in the middle on a board of 6♦6♣3♣A♣, Kristian Willumsen check-called from the big blind in the face of a bet of 25,000 from Panagiotis Oikonomidis in the cutoff.
On the Q♠ river, Willumsen led out with an all-in bet of 65,000, earning a rapid tap of the table and fold from Oikonomidis.
Kristian Willumsen – 225,000 Panagiotis Oikonomidis – 170,000
