Daniel Ryder opened to 65,000 on the Button. Henry Owen (who was the overall chip leader going into Day 2) opted to defend his Big Blind.
Owen checked the 5♦Q♠2♦ flop, and Ryder scouted the terrain with a 35,000 continuation bet. Owen raised to a shy 80,000, and Ryder made the call swiftly. Owen continued on the aggressive path with a 100,000 bet on the 9♥ turn. Again, Ryder called.
The river was the 3♦. Owen now checked; after contemplating his decision for a good two minutes, Ryder forced his opponent all in for 365,000. Owen leaned back in his chair and released a heavy sigh. After going through the hand in his head, he ultimately made the call.
Daniel Ryder: 10♣2♠
Henry Owen: Q♣8♠
“Don’t put that on the blog!” Ryder panicked as he saw this poker.pro live reporter’s presence. “Put it on the blog!” Owen countered. Considering Owen is a two-time £60 poker.pro PL H.O.R.S.E. winner, it was easy to pick a side.
Henry Owen: 1,250,000
Daniel Ryder: 685,000
