Seated in the Lo-jack, Connor Butt limped the 400 Big Blind. So did James Buckley (Hi-jack) and Angelo Avanzato (Small Blind) before 2025 PartyPoker Tour London (Winter Edition) £500 Main Event winner Thomas Sanderson checked his Big Blind.
Action was checked to Butt on the 3♦2♥8♥ flop, who bet 1,500. Buckley and Avanzato both made the call before Sanderson put in a 6,000 raise. Avanzato was the sole caller. The two contestants then checked down the 9♣7♣ runout.
Angelo Avanzato: A♣5♥
Thomas Sanderson: 9♥6♥
“I knew you had nothing,” a disappointed Avanzato said, referring to his call on the flop. Nevertheless, Sanderson claimed the pot, and his campaign to become the first-ever two-fold PartyPoker Tour Main Event champion is off to a decent start.
Thomas Sanderson: 100,000
Angelo Avanzato: 28,500
