Gary Fisher had already secured his payday, but made it clear during the deal-making that he came to battle three-handed. He opened to 3x from the button with A♠10♠, and Veli-Pekka Penttinen defended his big blind with K♣4♣.
The flop came 5♠6♣K♠, delivering plenty of action. Penttinen flopped top pair, while Fisher picked up the nut flush draw. A setup that could see the pot going either way. Fisher continued for 675,000, and Penttinen made the call.
The turn brought the 8♥. After Penttinen checked, Fisher moved all-in for 5.7 million. The shove sent Penttinen deep into the tank, but in the end, he decided to let it go as Fisher’s big bluff got through.
Veli-Pekka Penttinen: 10,000,000
Gary Fisher: 8,500,000
