Seated in the Hi-jack, Latvia’s Viesturs Baumanis opened to 12,000. Action eventually came around to Ryan Johnstone, who three-bet to 50,000 from the Small Blind, leaving himself with one green 1,000 chip behind. Baumanis made the call.
Johnstone checked the 8♠10♣9♠ flop, and Baumanis forced his opponent all in by betting the absolute minimum. Johnstone spent a minute or two checking the tournament clock, but when he could determine he couldn’t wait for the bubble to burst, he made the call.
Viesturs Baumanis: A♣10♠
Ryan Johnstone: K♣K♦
Scary board for kings, but Johnstone had the best hand even after the 6♣2♣ runout.
The bubble is approaching very rapidly (considering 98 players will be in the money).
Viesturs Baumanis: 170,000
Ryan Johnstone: 114,000
