Le Defends his Blind

Alemu Makonen raised to 6k from the middle, and Van Le topped up his big blind with a call. They checked it down through the flop and turn, with Le firing 10k on the river of 8♦9♦5♣6♠9♥. Makonen called, but mucked when Le showed nine-eight of spades for the riverboat.
