As an official media partner, our team at poker.pro will be on-site at the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow at Alea Casino Glasgow, covering key hands and biggest moments. Don’t miss a moment of the action as we bring you exclusive live updates from the tour’s third UK stop of the year.
Nicholas Scott opened to 1,500 from middle position, and received a call from Sharaz Moad in the hijack, before Ryan McVey produced a three-bet to 4,100 from the cutoff.
Both of his opponents called to see the J♥5♥4♠ flop, where action was checked to McVey. He fired out a bet of 5,000, which failed to shake off either opponent.
On the 10♠ turn, Scott checked to Moad, who slid out a bet of 12,000, forcing folds from both of his opponents.
Sharaz Moad – 75,000 Nicholas Scott – 35,000 Ryan McVey – 30,000
Alexander Wickham was sweeping in a huge pot, while Vitor Cortico was getting up out of his chair looking slightly stunned.
With around 60,000 in the middle and the board reading 9♦8♠4♦5♠2♦, Cortico check-called an all-in from Wickham for his remaining stack of around 45,000.
Wickham tabled A♦7♦ for the nuts, and Cortico turned over 9♠9♣ with dismay.
A chunky pot of 24,300 had brewed by the river on a board of Q♣9♠6♦A♥5♥, in a hand between Alban Rrushi in middle position, and Stephen Maxwell in the big blind.
Maxwell checked, and Rrushi fired out a bet of 7,600. Maxwell spent a reasonable period of time in the tank, but made the call.
Rrushi tabled A♣Q♥ for top two pair, and Maxwell was frustrated to see his K♣K♥ had been usurped on the turn.
With around 2,400 in the middle on a flop of 6♣5♦4♣, Michael Marco fired out a bet of 2,000, and was met with a raise to 6,000 from Brian Etheridge.
Marco called to see the A♣ turn, where he fired out a bet of 6,000.
Etheridge called to see the 6♠ river, where Marco again led out with a bet of 11,500. Etheridge jammed for around 26,000, and Marco snap-called for his roughly 20,000 stack.
Marco tabled A♥6♦ for sixes full of aces, and could barely believe his eyes when Etheridge turned over A♦A♠ for aces full of sixes.
Ishbel Leddy was sweeping in a full double-up, after waking up with pocket rockets versus her opponent’s pocket kings. The stacks made their way into the middle preflop, and Leddy flopped a set, rendering her opponent’s turned set irrelevant.
Leddy had apparently picked up pocket queens in the previous hand, hitting another set to bust her opponent, and has in excess of three starting stacks already.
Ramlal Basdeo opened to 400 under the gun, and received a call from Douglas McVey in the next seat.
Alex Gillies produced a three-bet to 1,700 next along, before Omid Nikjeh cold-called in the cutoff. Basdeo and McVey both called to make it four-way to the flop in a three-bet pot.
The 8♣5♦4♣ flop was checked to Gillies, who fired out a bet of 2,500. Nikjeh folded, but both Basdeo and McVey called.
The J♥ hit on the turn, and was checked through to the Q♣ river, where action was checked to Gillies.
Gillies slid out a bet of 6,000, which only Basdeo called. Gillies confidently tabled J♣J♠ for a turned set of jacks, but was shocked to see Basdeo had Q♥Q♠ for a rivered set of queens.
Ramlal Basdeo – 56,000 Alex Gillies – 30,000 Douglas McVey – 38,000 Omid Nikjeh – 35,000
Around 5,600 had made its way into the middle on a completed board of A♠K♠6♠A♣2♠, in a hand between Michael Dock in the cutoff, and Michael Marco in the big blind.
Marco checked, and Dock fired out a chunky bet of 5,400. Marco thought matters through briefly, before sending his cards to the muck.

Play is underway in Day 1a of the £150 buy-in, £50,000 guaranteed Mini Main Event, with 34 players already seated.
Early birds include David Docherty and London Main Event final tablist Ivan Meister, who are aiming to follow in the footsteps of Christian Watt as the Glasgow Mini Main Event champion.
The PartyPoker Tour crowned its latest Main Event champion just three weeks ago, as Daniel Smith of Wales turned a free online satellite ticket into a £22,500 payday in London. Now, the latest opportunity for players to etch their name into PartyPoker history has arrived, with the tour descending on the Alea Casino in Glasgow from 3-9 August for its sixth stop of 2026.
With the city fresh off hosting a hugely successful Commonwealth Games, attention turns from the pool and track to the tables. It is the second time the tour has been hosted by the stunning venue on the banks of the River Clyde.
Last year, Zhen Zhen battled to Main Event glory, overcoming a 256-entry field to bank £22,500 after slaying a tough final table comprising David Lappin, PartyPoker Tour ambassador Jaime Staples, Kevin Frame and Dean Lyall. Zhen remains the only female winner of the £100,000 guaranteed flagship event in tour history.

Long before she learned to defend a big blind, Natalie Bromley was a lifelong Burnley FC supporter turned football broadcaster, co-founding the fan podcast No Nay Never before going on to commentate for BBC World. Her introduction to poker came through her ex-husband, and it wasn’t long before her media background and her new passion for the game began to intertwine.
Away from the tables, Bromley is also the founder of Hearts of Queens, a charitable foundation that supports women’s shelters and clean water initiatives in the communities the PartyPoker Tour visits. As she prepares for her home leg in Manchester, where she’ll be chasing redemption after a fifth-place Main Event finish last year, Bromley opens up about football, law, poker, and juggling it all.

Zhen Zhen topped a field of 256 entries to win the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Glasgow £500 Main Event for £22,500, storming back from a four-to-one heads-up deficit to defeat Scotland’s Kyle Scott with ace-high besting queen-six on the river. The final table also saw PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples fall in seventh after a brutal cooler, while prolific grinder Dean Lyall and overall Day 2 chip leader David Lappin both went out short of the top three.

The PartyPoker Tour Glasgow kicks off on Monday, bringing a week of poker back to Alea Casino Glasgow and its river-view card room through August 8. Headlining the action is the £500 Main Event with its £100,000 guarantee, alongside the ever-popular £150 Mini Main Event, a lineup of poker.pro-branded tournaments, including Sviten Special and Red River Bounty, and JJ Hazan’s PLO Masters Series.
With Tour Ambassadors past and present sharing memories of last year’s stop and a jam-packed schedule of side events on tap, this sixth stop of the season is shaping up to be one of the Tour’s biggest yet.
With 28,000 in the middle on a board of J♦5♦4♣7♦, Stephen Docherty led out with a bet of 10,500, and was faced with an all-in of 35,000 from Allan Nesbitt.
After a reasonable spell in the tank, Docherty folded, and Nesbitt flashed the 4♠ as he raked in the pot.
Craig Smith opened to 1,600, before Gary Bertram moved all-in for 5,800 from middle position. Stephen Johnston three-bet to 13,000 from the big blind.
Smith took quite a bit of time for thought before he moved his stack of 22,600 into the middle, and Johnston quickly called, creating a three-way all-in scenario.
Gary Bertram: 5♠5♦ Craig Smith: A♠Q♥ Stephen Johnston: A♥8♥
It was a decent spot for Bertram, and both of his opponents bricked the K♦7♦3♥6♦6♣ runout. Smith took the 35,600 side pot versus Johnston.

A pot of 40,000 had brewed by the river on a board of 6♠5♠3♥7♥2♠, and Robert Robb was all-in for 19,700, while Alistair McKee was in the tank, with 21,000 behind.
Plenty of good-natured patter went back and forth between the two, with McKee saying “It’s every time. This is getting personal now!”.
Eventually McKee made the call, and was dismayed to see his K♣K♠ was behind the whole way against Robb’s A♦A♠.

Paul Lennon limped from early position, and called a raise to 1,600 from Darach Rogan in middle position.
On the 6♥4♥3♣ flop, Lennon check-called a bet of 1,000 from Rogan.
The Q♠ hit on the turn, and Lennon changed approach, leading out with a bet of 1,500. Rogan responded with quick raise to 5,000, and Lennon folded with a sigh.
Evan Docherty opened to 800 under the gun, and received calls from Nigel Payne and Gerard Martin, before Jinyi Lin produced a three-bet to 4,500 from the big blind.
Docherty and Payne got out of the way, but Martin called to see the K♥6♦3♥ flop.
Lin continued with a bet of 3,500, and Martin folded.

With 12,400 in the middle on a board of Q♣10♠3♠J♣, Richard Jowett fired out a bet of 7,000, only to be faced with a snap all-in from Alen Wilkie with the covering stack.
Jowett had 32,000 behind, and went into the tank, but made the call.
Richard Jowett: 10♣10♥ Alen Wilkie: K♥Q♥
It was a set versus top pair with the wrap draw, and Wilkie pleaded with the dealer for a nine or ace, but the 3♥ river was a brick.
“Nice hand, should have went for that smoke”, laughed Wilkie as Jowett raked in the double-up.

Ian McNeillie opened to 600 from under the gun, and was met with a three-bet to 2,000 from Alfie Darby in middle position. Derek Curran cold-called in the cutoff, and McNeillie made up the difference.
The 7♣3♠2♥ flop was checked to the 9♥ turn, where McNeillie led out with a bet of 2,000, which only Darby called.
The 9♦ river paired the board, and McNellie checked to his foe. Darby fired out a pot-sized bet of 10,500, and McNeillie folded.
Darby went to muck, but hesitated, and asked “Will it be on the blog?” When this reporter confirmed it would, he smiled and tabled J♣10♣.

With around 9,000 in the middle on a flop of Q♠10♥4♣, each of Shane Henderson, Kevin Whelan and Gary Stokes put in 3,000, to see the K♥ turn.
All players knuckled their option, and the 9♦ hit on the river, where fireworks ensued.
Henderson led out with a bet of 3,000 from the small blind, and received a call from Whelan in the cutoff, before Stokes raised to 13,000 from the button.
Henderson three-bet to 25,000, Whelan folded, and Stokes made a quick call.
Henderson tabled A♥J♦ for the nut broadway straight, and Stokes mucked with frustration.

There are two further starting flights on August 4, with Day 1b kicking off at 2 p.m., and Day 1c at 8 p.m.
That concludes poker.pro’s coverage for today, which will resume tomorrow with full coverage of Day 1b.
A pot of 36,000 had developed by the turn on a board of J♣5♣4♣8♦, in a hand between Terry Healy in the cutoff, and Ross Haffie in the big blind.
Haffie checked, and Healy slid out a bet of 33,000. Haffie responded with an all-in bet of 146,000, forcing Healy to fold after a decent spell in the tank.
Sacha Dadbin, Paul Lennon, Douglas Muir, Steven Keay and Alan Jacobson have all been eliminated, with play due to conclude in Day 1a when the field is reduced to 26 players.

Rebecca Hardisty opened to 10,000 from early position, and received a call from Brian Etheridge in the next seat, before Elvio Marandola produced a three-bet to 27,000 from the cutoff.
Both of his opponents called to see the 8♠5♠4♣ flop, where Hardisty checked. Etheridge moved all-in for 59,000, and Marandola followed suit for his 36,000 stack, while Hardisty got out of the way.

A total of 67 entries created a £3,350 prize pool, to be split among the top 11 finishers. £1,000 awaits the winner, and ten players remain, with the full payouts as follows:-

Mark Johnston opened to 8,000 from the hijack, and was faced with a three-bet to 20,000 from Ross Haffie in the small blind.
Action folded back to Johnston, who produced a four-bet to 30,500. Haffie instantly moved all-in with the covering stack, and Johnston was forced to fold.
